Are there people who stopped/quit high blood pressure medication Diovan due to its numerous side effects?

Please share you story if you tied or completely stopped Blood Pressure medication Diovan. My husband is taking Diovan 160/12,5 mg. Since he became raw eater (eats only raw veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds) his blood pressure dropped naturally (it’s is now 117/76 – 120/80). We do not eat any animal products, including diary and eggs. My husband lost more that 45 pounds and feels way better than before. But when he takes Diovan (he takes half of the pill now, so it’s a dose of 80/6,5) he feels horrible and his blood pressure drops to 106/68. Our doctors insists on impossibility of stopping BP medication. But I googled and found horrible side effects of Diovan (severe muscle cramps, headaches, depression, anxiety, joint pain, rash, hair loss, libido loss, low energy level etc), my husband experienced all of them. We found a great website (askapatient com) and there plenty of people who used and experienced those side effects and some even quit Diovan. We would like to know how to do that, if we can do it gradually? We did a research and found plenty of natural remedies recommended by naturopathic practitioners like: Coenzyme Q10, Garlic, Hawthorn, Mistletoe, Valerian, Hops, L-Arginine. We bought them today at the health food store along with Vitanine C and E, Selenium, Calcium, Magnesium & Potassium. Also we plan to take 2 tb spoons of organic flaxseed oil daily, 2 gloves of fresh garlic, incorporate more cayenne pepper, turmeric in our diet and drink plenty of herbal tea stabilizing blood pressure. Please if you have any information or want to share you story on how you stopped Diovan (or any other high blood pressure medication), please let us know…We will really appreciate it.

P.S: We will go to see and MD doctor with Naturopathic license as well, when we find a good one, as we’d like to talk to a professional who knows both worlds, and wouldn’t be only trained/inclined to sell prescription drugs, but interested in natural remedies as well.
Please do not advertise/recommend other medication as our purpose is to eliminate drugs in our life. We are searching for a natural ways and remedies…Thank you

Sasha, if your husband has dropped his blood pressure naturally, there is no need to look for or take any other supplements and natural remedies such as you are considering.

You are doing the right thing with the fruit, nuts and seeds. I have a friend who stopped medication completely, and at the same time quit using added salt on his food, which lowered his blood pressure to 120/80.easily.
He has never felt better, our food, even bread and milk is loaded with salt, I say "shake the salt habit", we don’t need to add it.
    Hope this helps Nvrgvup.

most medications can be withdrawn gradually..1/2 daily…1/2 every other day, etc.
my suggestion would be to find another doctor. people are switched off meds all the time and seem to do well.
